Low Voltage Injection

Low voltage series couplings

Serial Injection for Low Voltage

With low voltage serial couplings (also called neutral coupling or UT), the ripple control signal is fed into the star point of the low voltage transformer (LV transformer) and is available in phase on all three conductors of the network. Since with this type of coupling the signal is only available on the low voltage side, a low voltage coupling must be installed with each LV transformer. This type of coupling is independent of the location of the entry point of the medium-voltage, but entails a somewhat increased installation effort, since a pilot line must be installed from the ripple control transmitter to each serial injection.

A serial injection coupling consists of the following components, matched to the ripple control frequency:

  • 1 transformer
  • 2 capacitors (combined in one cubicle)

We stock the following types:

  • RC freq.: 230 Hz, max. neutral current 575 A, for LV transfo rated 630 kVA
  • RC freq.: 230 Hz, max. neutral current 1000 A, for LV transfo rated 1000 kVA
  • RC freq.: 492 Hz, max. neutral current 575 A, for LV transfo rated 630 kVA
  • RC freq.: 492 Hz, max. neutral current 1000 A, for LV transfo rated 1000 kVA
  • RC freq.: 595 Hz, max. neutral current 575 A, for LV transfo rated 630 kVA
  • RC freq.: 595 Hz, max. neutral current 1000 A, for LV transfo rated 1000 kVA
